Microsoft is always trying to corner the market.  
Normal program installation methods aparently were 
not proprietary enough, because they decided that 
people should now use their special installation 
method called "Windows Installer".  

The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will 
let you remove programs installed with this 
"Windows Installer", even if the programs 
can not be uninstalled through the regular 
Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" tool.  

NOTE: It is not uncommon for Windows Installer 
to fail, especially when installing SQL and Java.
