DayTimeServer (ver 1.0.0.0) Abandoned Freeware DayTimeServer is a small Daytime protocol Server that supports many active connections. No registry entries are added, and it doesn't require installation (just place the file in a directory of your choice). The server runs as an icon in the "Tray". The Daytime protocol is a popular method for retrieving time data on DOS computers. Interestingly, many time clients claiming to be NTP (or SNTP) Clients, actually are using the Daytime protocol instead (many NTP servers accept requests in both formats, so the truth is often masked). NOTE: The Windows 2000 Professional installation disk comes with a basic Daytime Server that can be optionally installed. However, it is bundled with 4 other mini-servers that will be installed at the same time (Character Generator, Discard, Echo, and Quote Of The Day).
