The KMPlayer is a direct replacement for the 
Windows Media Player.  It excells at video 
playback, and is also a very good audio player.  


NOTE: You might have to change the "File Types" 
associations for your audio files by hand away 
from Windows Media Player to the KMPlayer.  
You do NOT have to uninstall the Windows Media 
Player, as changing associations is sufficient.  


Be aware that the KMPLayer uses the "gdiplus.dll" 
file, which does not come with Windows 2000.

Microsoft Windows 2000 does not have GDI+ native.  In order to use
KMPlayer on Win2k, you first have to place this GDIPLUS.DLL into the
WINNT SYSTEM32 (or WINDOWS SYSTEM) directory.
